The Support Services Department handles the following activities for the school district:

The Coordinator of Support Services facilitates inventory management of the District’s more than $197 million of building and property assets. He also processes and manages liability, property and fleet insurance for the district, and serves as the purchasing agent. Labor relations, construction advisory group participation, and budgetary management are other important Support Services responsibilities.
The Maintenance and Custodial staff works to clean and repair the district’s seven elementary schools, two middle schools, high school, central office, and maintenance garage, as well as transitional sites and modular classrooms used during the construction phases. They also maintain Lakewood Stadium, Lakewood High School baseball field, and Garfield Field, as well as being responsible for lawn mowing and snow removal. Participation with the Construction Advisory Group is also important work for maintenance/custodial.
The Nutrition Services staff provides breakfasts and lunches daily for District students and staff. The District has more than 2466 students who qualify for free and reduced price meals. The dietitian also prepares special menus to meet restricted dietary needs of students. The District’s nutrition services program participates in the national School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, meeting all nutritional standards for criteria for federal and state reimbursement. The Free and Reduced Price Breakfast and Lunch Program provides families who meet certain income guidelines with meals at no cost or at a reduced price of 30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch. Security facilitates safety and security details at all of the District’s school buildings, central office, and stadiums. Eleven uniformed security guards provided by a contracted security firm assist at Lakewood High School and other buildings. The District presently has surveillance cameras in operation. The Security Supervisor works closely with the City of Lakewood Police and Fire Departments. The security hotline number is 216-227-5311.
