Lakewood City Schools
STUDENTS JUMP FOR HEART HEALTH

Students from the seven elementary schools jumped their hearts out on Saturday in an effort to help the fight against heart disease and stroke. Fourth and fifth graders from Emerson, Grant, Harrison, Hayes, Horace Mann, Lincoln and Roosevelt participated in the 12th annual Jump Rope for Heart on Feb. 6 at Lakewood High’s East Gym. Joining the students as they frolicked with their ropes on the gym floor was Lake Erie Monsters mascot Sully.

Students jumped to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Over the last decade, Lakewood City Schools has raised more than $100,000 for the association through its Jump Rope For Heart events. A big thanks to physical education teachers Genni Lach and Leslie Tighe for organizing this year’s big jump.
