NELSON TO PLAY BALL AT CENTRE ON ROTC SCHOLARSHIP

Lakewood High School senior Peter Nelson will combine his love of basketball and his desire to serve his country next year when he attends Centre College in Danville, Ky., on a four-year full-ride Army ROTC scholarship. Nelson announced his commitment at a signing ceremony on Monday.

BOYS' TENNIS TEAM TAKES CONFERENCE TITLE

The LHS boys' tennis team finished off its finest year in the past half a century by beating Rocky River 3-2 and claiming the West Shore Conference title in the team's first year in the league. Seniors Chris Brinich and Dan Mezin won in straight sets at second and third singles, respectively. The second doubles team of senior Matt Carlson and junior Colin Levis dominated in their straight set win. The Rangers were undefeated in the WSC and completed their regular season at 13-4. They have now won three of their past four league titles.

LHS GOLF OUTING FUNDRAISER SET FOR JUNE 8

TIme to hit the links! Have some fun and help raise some money for the LHS Golf program by joining in the team's annual golf outing at Springvale Golf Course in North Olmsted on June 8. ORCHESTRA REUNION WEEKEND CONCERTS SET FOR MAY 24-25

The Lakewood High School Orchestra program is busily preparing for back-to-back reunion concerts May 24 & 25. Alumni from all over will join the Spring Orchestra Concert on Friday, May 24 and will perform two selections with the LHS Symphony and Chamber Orchestra under the direction of former LHS Orchestra Director Fritz Schaufele. Then on Saturday, May 25, The Lakewood Project will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a concert that will include more than 60 LP alumni. Click here for a Lakewood Project presale ticket form. 


SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION BEGINS APRIL 26

Registration for Lakewood City Schools' summer school program for middle school and high school students begins April 26. Session I will run from June 14-July 5 and Session II from July 8-26. For more information and an application, click here.
